PCIe 6.0® Specification Podcasts Available: New Markets, Performance Updates and More
Following the release of the PCI Express® (PCIe®) 6.0 specification to members earlier this year, PCI-SIG® had the unique opportunity to participate in three IT industry podcasts. PCI-SIG President and Board Chair Al Yanes joined episodes of StorageReview Podcast, DataCentric Podcast and Storage Unpacked Podcast to discuss the key benefits of the PCIe 6.0 specification, industry impacts and the role of PCI-SIG in shaping I/O interconnect technology standards over the years.
Al Yanes spoke with StorageReview Podcast host Brian Beeler about PCIe 6.0 technology profiles, performance and design options for operating systems, as well as the system changes needed to take advantage of the new specification. The conversation also covered opportunities in the automotive and mobile markets, backwards compatibility and what’s coming next for PCI-SIG. Listen to the podcast on the StorageReview website or view the video podcast is on YouTube.
DataCentric Podcast is produced by IT industry analyst firm Moor Insights & Strategy. Al Yanes sat down with co-hosts Steve McDowell and Matt Kimball for an in-depth discussion on how PCI-SIG operates, how PCIe 6.0 specification will benefit the enterprise IT market and when we will see PCIe 6.0 architecture in data centers. Storage Unpacked Podcast
Al Yanes also joined Storage Unpacked Podcast co-hosts Chris Evans and Martin Glassborow for a lively discussion about the organizational structure of PCI-SIG and the importance of Compliance Workshops. The episode also dives into how PCI-SIG has been able to double the I/O bandwidth every three years, the different market segments that will benefit from PCIe 6.0 technology and when PCIe 6.0 products are expected to appear.
