FMS 2023

Flash Memory Summit (FMS) 2023 is right around the corner on Aug. 8-10 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA. PCI-SIG is planning to participate in various capacities at this year’s conference to share the latest PCI Express® (PCIe®) technology updates with participants in the storage and memory industries. PCI-SIG members Astera Labs and Synopsys will be showcasing the latest PCIe technology demos in the SNIA Open Standards Pavilion (Booth #725). PCI-SIG will also have a pod in the SD Association booth #833.

For those interested in learning more about the forthcoming PCIe 7.0 specification, PCI-SIG President and Chairperson Al Yanes will be presenting “PCIe 7.0 Specification: 128 GT/s Bandwidth for Future Data Intensive Markets” on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 12:10 pm as part of the Enterprise Storage – Data Center Applications Track.

      • Amphenol MCIO (Mini Cool Edge IO) cable connector is tooled to meet the recently developed PCIe 6.0 internal cable spec Ver 0.9. Amphenol is demonstrating its next-generation product – Multi-Trak™ adopted as a near-end IO solution of OCP DC-MHS HPM.       • Amphenol PCIe 6.0 CEM connector is ready with the connector meeting the latest PCIe 6.0 CEM spec Ver 0.7 draft SI requirements.The Amphenol M.2 connector demonstrates 1A current capability based on the recently developed M.2 1A specification. The Amphenol U.2 drive connector is upgraded to PCIe 5.0 specification. The connector performance meets PCI SIG PCIe 5.0 U.2 specification Ver 0.9 draft SI requirements.

Astera Labs

    • Astera Labs and its ecosystem partners will demonstrate how PCIe technology can unlock peak performance in storage applications with Astera Labs’ Aries PCIe Smart Retimers
      • The demo includes the industry-leading storage-optimized X13 BigTwin server from Supermicro and PCIe 5.0 SSDs.
      • The demo will show how PCIe Smart Retimers extend the reach of PCIe 5.0 links and support bifurcation for four independent x4 NVMe SSDs, enabling a storage topology that would otherwise be limited to PCIe 4.0 speeds.
      • Astera Labs will run an industry standard FIO benchmark to stress PCIe 5.0 SSDs and showcase the top-tier performance of drives with retimers.
